This policy outlines how Visonic AI manages the data we collect and process, particularly through our computer vision and AI-driven accessibility tools, such as our fully automated audio description service. Our core principle is trust: We never sell your data, and your video content is never used to train our models.

1. Who We Are

Visonic AI (“Visonic,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a computer vision technology company specializing in accessibility solutions and the media sector. Our services include the automated generation of audio descriptions for video content.

2. What Data We Collect and Why

We collect information primarily to operate our service, process payments, and provide customer support.

3. How We Handle Your Customer Content

Your content is the most sensitive data we handle. We have strict rules for its processing:

  • Classification and Confidentiality: We treat all Customer Content as highly confidential and proprietary to you. We classify this information to ensure the highest appropriate security controls are applied throughout its lifecycle (upload, processing, storage, and deletion).
  • Temporary Processing: Your uploaded videos are stored temporarily, solely for the purpose of generating the audio description. Once the job is complete and the final description is delivered, the original video file is automatically and permanently deleted from our processing servers after a short grace period for download (typically 7 days).
  • No Model Training: We do not use any content uploaded by our customers (including video, audio, or metadata) to train, refine, or improve our proprietary computer vision or language models. Our model development is conducted on proprietary or licensed datasets separate from customer operations.

4. When We Access or Disclose Your Information

We protect your information and will only disclose it under the following limited circumstances:

  1. To provide the service: We may disclose necessary information to trusted third-party service providers (such as data storage hosts, payment processors, and email communication platforms) only to the extent required to operate our service.
  2. Internal Audits: Access to Customer Content by Visonic AI personnel is strictly limited to authorized engineers for necessary maintenance and support, and all such access is logged and audited to ensure compliance with this policy.
  3. For legal obligations: We may disclose information if required by a valid legal subpoena, court order, or governmental request. We commit to notifying you of such requests unless legally prohibited from doing so.
  4. For security and fraud prevention: We may disclose information to protect Visonic AI, our service, our customers, or the public from harm or illegal activities.
  5. Change of ownership: If Visonic AI is acquired by or merges with another company, we will notify you before any personal data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information or Customer Content.

5. How We Secure Your Data

We take the security of your data seriously. We apply security measures that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we handle, including:

  • Encryption in Transit: All data transfer between your devices and our servers is secured using HTTPS/SSL/TLS encryption.
  • Access Control: Access to Customer Content and personal data is strictly limited to authorized personnel based on the principle of least privilege, using role-based access controls and screening employees prior to access being granted.
  • Regular Audits: We regularly update our infrastructure with the latest security patches and monitor our systems for vulnerabilities.

6. Your Rights with Respect to Your Information

You have the right to access, update, and delete the personal information we hold about you.

  • Access/Correction: You can access and update most of your account information directly within the application settings.
  • Deletion: You may request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated personal data and non-core Customer Content records.
  • Customer Content Deletion: As noted in Section 3, your video uploads are automatically deleted after the processing period.

7. Data Retention and Account Cancellation

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the services.

  • Account Deletion Timeline: If you, the Account Owner, cancel your subscription:
    • We will immediately stop billing you.
    • Your account content will be permanently deleted from our active production servers within 30 days of cancellation.
    • Your content will be purged from our secure, encrypted backups within 60 days of cancellation.
  • Mandatory Retention: Please note that data required for mandatory legal or financial record-keeping (e.g., billing records, tax compliance) will be retained for the period required by law before being securely deleted.

8. International Data Transfer and Compliance

Our services and data are primarily hosted on servers located in the United States.

If you access our service from Australia, the United Kingdom (UK), the European Union (EU), or elsewhere outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.

Specific Compliance Notes:

  • EU and UK: By using the Service, you consent to this transfer, which may not offer the same level of protection as data protection laws in your home jurisdiction (such as GDPR in the EU/UK).
  • Australia: By using the Service, you consent to the disclosure of your personal information overseas.

9. Changes and Questions

We may update this policy as needed to reflect changes in our practices or to comply with relevant regulations. If we make significant changes, we will refresh the date at the top of this page and notify you via email or a prominent notification within the Visonic AI application.
